Mersedez Hoover (They/She) is a Chicago actor, dramaturg, playwright, and overall theater person. Mersedez is originally from Pittsburgh, PA (the good side of PA) and credits their love of theater to their patron of the arts mother and incredibly dramatic six siblings. Mersedez has had many favorite roles, including Company Member 3 in The Meaningful Action Theatre Company Presents A Workshop Reading Of “Muffed: A Recounting Of Farmington, Maine’s 43rd Annual Chester Greenwood Day Devised By The Members Of The Meaningful Action Theatre Company, the titular role in Julius Caesar, and Marjorie in Extremities. Recently, Mersedez was the dramaturg for the staged reading of The Vivian Girls Present: Unreal. Mersedez is willing to do just about anything to make theater happen; they have worked as costume crew, directed, manned a spotlight, and ASMed on several occasions just to stay involved. Mersedez is excited to bring their “let’s make it happen!” energy to The Factory.
