A Drink With…Jill Oliver

By March 11, 2015No Comments

Bartender I’ll have a…Gin Swizzle.

I’m SURE you remember me from such Factory shows as…Hey! Dancin’!, The League of Awesome, The Gray Girl and Hotel Aphrodite. Abbie Fest: 30 Days in the Rabbit Hole (Director) and Street Justice: Condition Red (Assistant Director.).

I got involved with Factory because…Factory was holding auditions for a show about dancing in the 80’s and I LOVE TO DANCE, quite possibly more than I love to act. I remember walking out of that audition thinking, “Even if I don’t book this, that was the most fun I have ever had at an audition and those people were so welcoming.” Since then, my dream of being socially accepted for dancing like a psychopath has been lived out at every opening night party. Joey Ballgame pulled me in for our softball team, and after that Factory became my permanent home.

My current gig is… playing a Witch in Macbeth at Artistic Home. After that I will be writing my play for Factory, Lametown and the Adventures of Spirit Force Five.

I give a shit about our move to Rogers Park because… It’s our own damn space! Ours, our own, our precious!!! And it’s gonna be fancy. “I’m so fancy! You already know. We’re in the fast lane, from Avondale to Rogers Park.” …I’ll make that rhyme later.

If I had to make you listen to two albums they would be… Who the fuck listens to full albums anymore? Go make a spotify playlist and join 2015.    (ED: Get off our lawn! We’re keeping this ball, too.).

My favorite Factory memory is… When Phil [Claudnic] showed up like 4 hours late to strike, Manny [Tamayo] tore him a new asshole and everyone pissed themselves laughing for a good, straight, full 5 minutes.

I’m switching drinks, I’ll have a… Rye Whiskey.
