Bartender, I’ll have a…Strongbow Cider or maybe a nice Spanish red of some sort.

I’m SURE you remember me from such Factory shows as…As an actor: Shameless Shamuses, Mop Top Festival, and The League of Awesome. Director of Ceres and AD for Dead Wrong. Designed sets for: Bustin’ Out of the Hell, Hey! Dancin’!, 1985 (original & DCA remount), White Trash Wedding & a Funeral (20th Anniversary remount), and Street Justice: Condition Red. Most recently as the writer of Hotel Aphrodite

I got involved with the Factory because…I was taking a break from theater and was recruited (heavily) by Allison Cain. I am glad and thankful she did.

My current/next gig is…Helping Factory move into the new space and managing a four-year-old (and, no, I don’t mean Roach…)

I give a shit about our move to Rogers Park because…If you’re fortunate to get an opportunity to have your own space to create — with the people you love like family, for others to enjoy — you should do absolutely everything you can to make that happen. Rogers Park is an awesomely diverse neighborhood and it’s great to see all of the great things developing and being a part of it. And, I have to admit that I appreciate that it’s near my house.

If I had to force you to listen to 2 albums, they would be…I don’t know that I would force anyone to listen to anything, but I have yet to get tired of PJ Harvey: Rid of Me and Cocteau Twins: Heaven or Las Vegas

My favourite Factory memory is…Like most of us, I have a hard time picking one, but it might be a tie between (hold on, I’m breaking out the bullet points):

• Eric Roach as the Doctor in Top Shelf: ‘Check out this muther fuckin’ scene change’ OR
• Being in the audience of Hey! Dancin’! when a drunk audience member loudly questioned ‘Who wrote this shit?’ right before being escorted out OR
• During auditions for Hotel Aphrodite, after we asked people to make out with each other like out-of-control, sex- crazed loons in the most bizarre way they could think of, Matt Engle (the director) turns to me and says gleefully ‘Look at what you wrote!’

I’m switching drinks, I’ll have a… glass bottle of Veuve Clicquot

Bartender, I’ll have a…Jack Daniels. Rocks. Leave the bottle.

I’m SURE you remember me from such Factory shows as… Black and Blue, Street Justice: Condition Red, Take The Cake, Toast of the Town, Dead Wrong, Operation Infiltration, Top Shelf, Siskel and Ebert Save Chicago, Hey! Dancin!, Bustin’ out of the Hell, G.I.s In Europe, and Easy Six.

I got involved with the Factory because…This is the funniest bunch of people on the face of the Earth. Every opportunity I get to work with these people is a privilege. The work environment is beyond supportive and everyone is open to trying new things…not many places like that anywhere.

My current/next gig is…I’m taking some time to raise a human and to teach kids how to think good.

I give a shit about our move to Rogers Park because…It is in my neighborhood. It is easily accessible by public transportation, but most importantly IT IS OUR SPACE!!!!! I have a lot of fond memories of the Prop, but this is a place where the Factory can hang their hat. It also puts us on the hook to up our game so we keep the doors open. I think you will see the Factory really bloom in our new space. Plus, seriously, I live right down the street.

If I had to force you to listen to 2 albums, they would be… Led Zeppelin (Self titled), Van Halen (self titled)

My favourite Factory memory is…I guess it would be during a rehearsal for Operation Infiltration. We had an actor with a prosthetic leg, and I was one of a select group that knew about it. There was a part in the show where his leg was snapped and twisted around. It was fairly simple to do with the prosthetic and it made for a great effect. After we blocked it, we did it in front of the cast…who had no idea about the leg. Needless to say when they saw it, there were people who FREAKED out. Faces went pale, screams were audible, and people had to leave the room. It was amazing to be on the inside of that joke.

Bartender, I’ll have a…Breakfast of Champions aka Captain Morgan and Sprite

I’m SURE you remember me from such Factory shows as…Ren Faire! A Fistful of Ducats (re-mount), Street Justice: Condition Red, and Hotel Aphrodite.

I got involved with the Factory because…From the day my wife, Kim, and I moved to Chicago, everyone we met said, “You’ve got to work with The Factory. You’ll fucking love it!” After seeing Mop Top Festival and the White Trash re-mount, I knew what they were saying was true. Then I got a call from the director of Ren Faire (re-mount) asking if I wanted to join the cast. Hells yeah and I did. I’ve been hooked ever since. Now Kim and I are lucky enough to have been accepted into the family as new company members. Awesomeness achieved!

My current/next gig is…You can see me in The Last Big Mistake, the second Factory show of season 23 (and in the new space). Other than that, you can catch me in the Bruised Orange Theater Company’s I Saw You, performing real, uncensored personal ads from the Chicagoland area every Wednesday night at the Town Hall Pub, and every first Monday at Mary’s Attic. You can also catch me in CASSANDRA, a live lit “new timey” radio style show performing original sketches written by the cast, every last Tuesday at the Hopleaf.

I give a shit about our move to Rogers Park because…We finally have our own home. Bouncing around from space to space or having to work around someone else’s schedule can be tough. Now we can do what we want, when we want. Our parents are out of town and we’re having a party. Just don’t break anything!

If I had to force you to listen to 2 albums, they would be…Jimmy Buffett’s box set “Boats, Beaches, Bars, & Ballads”. Technically it’s 4 albums, but who gives a shit. Pour yourself some boat drinks, sit on the porch, and fucking relax.

My favourite Factory memory is…I have 2:

Getting killed as Streak in Street Justice and making my death noises in Robyn Coffin’s face back stage (there may been some leg humping too).

Mandy Walsh’s re-virgining in Hotel Aphrodite. Between the noises she made and her tits bouncing all over, I couldn’t keep my shit together. I had to go to my happy place every show so I wouldn’t break on stage.

I’m switching drinks, I’ll have a…A High Life, cause I don’t give a shit.

Bartender, I’ll have a…Tito’s dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives.

I’m SURE you remember me from such Factory shows as…Easy Six, White Trash Wedding and a Funeral (Remount), Street Justice: Condition Red.

I got involved with the Factory because…Tim Amos asked me, while we were polishing silverware at our serving job together, if I was funny and wanted to audition for a show at The Factory. I IMMEDIATELY said yes. Colin called me the next day.

My current/next gig is…still doing Chicago Fire, have a new commercial for Hefty coming out, and will be appearing in a Haven Theatre production at Theater Wit called Don’t Go Gentle!

I give a shit about our move to Rogers Park because…It’s absofuckinglutely, goddamn, amaze balls awesomely amazing!!!! It’s truly something that we have wanted and worked towards and we’re fortunate enough to have it happening. RIGHT NOW! It’s cool to go back to the area where our roots were planted, now we can keep moving forward and become part of the new and exciting things happening in Rogers Park.

If I had to force you to listen to 2 albums, they would be…Jeff Buckley ‘Grace’ and Beck ‘Midnight Vultures’.

My favourite Factory memory is…Easter of 2011… we had a party…at The Prop, upstairs with lots of beers. So Lonely came on and every single person in the room, about 15, sang along complete with air guitar and drums.

I’m switching drinks, I’ll have a…Many glasses of Kim Crawford please!

This is Robyn. She is famous and still hangs out with us. She's also hilarious, fiercely talented, and makes a beautiful dirty martini. That's right: beautiful.
